With the hope, determination, and support of a community that wants to see us grow, we were able to successfully complete the fence line at our Playa Hermosa hatchery site! We are incredibly grateful to Paul Watson and the Cencora volunteer group for their hard work and dedication. It is always amazing to meet members of the community and know that we all share the same passion for protecting our environment and helping conservation efforts succeed. Thanks to everyone's teamwork, we were able to repair and complete the damaged fence line, helping protect the hatchery and the turtle eggs from outside interference. Throughout the day, volunteers filtered sand to make it safer for nesting turtles, installed posts to close in the fence line, and participated in a beach cleanup because respecting nature and maintaining a healthy environment is an important part of our mission. |
A special shoutout goes to our interns, who did an amazing job helping coordinate the event, guiding volunteer groups, and always offering a helping hand wherever it was needed. We are so grateful for a community that is willing to come together in support of conservation, and we hope to continue working alongside these incredible volunteers again soon.
